In the stillness of the evening and in a first for LIVE From London the VOCES8 Centre reverts to its original name and ancient purpose as the beautiful church of St Anne and St Agnes, one of the many designed by Christopher Wren, plays host to a special candle-lit Festival Evensong sung by VOCES8 and the VOCES8 Scholars, led by the Revd Tessa Bosworth, Associate Priest at St Paul’s Cathedral. Music in the form of canticles, psalms and carols by composers including Sally Beamish, Reena Ismail, Hieronymous Praetorius, and Roderick Williams dispels the evening’s darkness and, ‘like a bright star shineth’, will joyfully draw your day to its close…
